All quadrilaterals are parallelograms All trapezoids are squares All rectangles are squares All parallelograms have 4 right angles Which statement is true? Home Page Question 1

A square has four 90⁰ angles A square is a rhombus A square has one pair of parallel lines A square is a rectangle Home Page Question 2 Which is not true about squares?

Square Trapezoid Rectangle Rhombus Home Page Question 3 Which shape has 2 congruent sides, 1 right angle and 1 pair of parallel lines?

Question 4 True False Home Page True or False. A square is not a kite.

Now you are ready for a hands-on project!!! Home Page

Directions: Now that you are more familiar with quadrilaterals, you are to choose an activity to complete. You will be presenting your final project to the class. If you would like to complete more than one project, that is fine. Home Page

Work on constructing a catchy song to help their classmates remember the hierarchy of quadrilaterals. Use PowerPoint to create a visual to go with your song. Make a short skit that will educate your peers on quadrilaterals. Click here to get ideas. You may also put the skit on a podcast. Work on a computer- based project to create a digital hierarchy of 2D shapes while utilizing various websites. Create a trading card game that involves having shapes and their features. You will then manage a mathematical debate circling around which 2D shape is more important. Pick Your Project

Construct a humorous poem using geometric vocabulary words to help students remember important principles of each shape. The finished product may be uploaded on our class blog. Work on producing a brainteaser. Use all the 2D shape names and a list of characteristics of each. Students will then work to arrange the shapes to match their attributes. Go on an outdoor scavenger hunt to take digital photos of things in nature that resemble 2D shapes. Produce a scrapbook where you will glue your findings on pages that will be later bound into a book. Use your artistic ability to construct “Wanted Posters” for all shapes using their characteristics. These posters will be hung around the class. Classmates will be able to guess what shape is wanted based off constructed clues. Pick Your Project
