Highlight: the brightest area, where light from the source falls most directly on the object. Cast shadow: a dark shadow caused by the shape blocking out light from the source. Crest shadow: a darker area that lies between the highlight and the reflected light in a rounded form. Reflected light: a dim light reflected from light falling on surfaces that surround the object.
