Introduction This Project helps to count number of visitors in a closed surrounding. Its working depends on the principle of intensity of light. This circuit counts the number of visitors entered and left and the result is shown in a 7 segment display 2

Components Required Counter IC :- CD4026 (2) Display :- LTS543 common cathode (7 Segment display) LDR :- Medium size Transistor :- BC547 npn transistor LED :- 5 mm red LED Resistor :- 1kohm, 4.7kohm, 10kohm, 100 ohm Switch :- Push to on switch Connector :- 2 Pin Connector 3

LDR :- Light controlled variable resistor, and light- and dark-activated switching circuits. A photo resistor is made of a high resistance semiconductor. 6

LED :- 7

BC547 :- VCBO = 50v VCEO = 45v VEBO = 6v IC = 100mA (DC) PC = 500mW 8

Resistor :- Passive terminal electrical component. Reduce current flow, adjust signal level. Can alter with time, temperature, operating Voltage. symbol: Ω ohm is equivalent to a volt per ampere 9

Device which stores the number of times a particular event or process has occurred. Decade Counter. Family of 4oo Series Buffered or unbuffered i/o. 16 pin CMOS 7 segment Counter. Counter :- 10

Wastage of electricity is one of the main problems which we are facing now days. In our home, school, colleges or industry we see that fan / lights are kept on even if there is nobody in the room. This happens due to negligence or when we are in hurry. To avoid all such situations we have designed this project called “ Visitor’s Counter”. Main concept behind this project is to measures the number of persons entering in any room like seminar hall, conference room, classroom. This function is implemented using a pair of Counters. 7-Segment display placed inside the room displays the value of persons count. This persons count will be incremented if somebody enters inside the room. Conclusion 19
