Higher English Close Reading The Final Question Tuesday 8 OctoberCMCM1

The Final Question Will ask you to discuss where the two writers AGREE or DISAGREE Ignore the advice that you can answer in continuous prose or bullet points as it is clear that bullet pointed answers are more likely to be better organised and as a result often get better marks.

The Final Question (2) Always begin with a short summary statement The first writer thinks that …….. However the second writer differs by saying ….. OR Both writers agree that …… Tuesday 8 OctoberCMCM3

The Final Question (3) Then try and add three or four bullet points stating where the agreements or disagreements are: Remember this is a U/E question and there should be virtually no quotation. You should be answering in your own words. If you MUST quote in order to give your answer structure then immediate follow your quotations with an explanation of their content or meaning in your own words. Tuesday 8 OctoberCMCM4
