The Legislative Branch Makes laws for our nation Decides how tax money will be spent Consists of two “houses” – also called Congress House of Representatives # of representatives is based on each state’s population 435 total members Reps. must be 25 years old and live in the district they represent One “term” lasts two years Can serve as many terms as they are elected to

The Executive Branch Enforces our nation’s laws by starting programs/services and ordering money to be spent Can propose and veto laws President is the Commander-in-Chief of the military Consists of President, Vice President, and the President’s Cabinet President can only serve two 4 year terms
