ITS in Latvia (general view) Concept Data flow for traffic information services (TIS) Priorities:  introduction of TIS and eCall in accordance with Directive 2010/40/EU;  development of decision support systems for road management. On-going activities:  gradual expansion of road sensor’s network;  pilot projects for traffic management;  permanently developing traffic info service at  development of united system to share un manage ITS related data. Barriers:  lack of long term vision and political support for ITS;  poor institutional co-operation;  financial constraints;  shortage of road geographical data.
