Simply easy! TM XUSL2E/4E light curtains Pilot light ? How to provide a signal to a pilot light or to a PLC input

Telemecanique Sensors 2 - Technical support – April 17 th, 2015 XUSL2E/4E light curtains ●Alternative to supply a pilot light or a PLC signaling input ●No additional output integrated into the light curtain to provide such electrical signal ●External light or PLC input, how to energize it : ●Either by using directly the NC contact available in the FSD (final switch device) connected to the OSSD. ●Either by an external component, when a safety interface is used If it is associated to a safety relay, if possible use an optional output of this relay (or of the monitoring unit). Please check current compatibility of this output with the light or PLC input.

Telemecanique Sensors 3 - Technical support – April 17 th, 2015 XUSL2E/4E light curtains ●Pilot light ●Recommended colour According to the table 4 of the IEC standard (electrical equipment of machines), the yellow (or orange) colour is recommended. In this european standard, the red colour is dedicated for an action required in case of hazardous situation. ●Possible product selection in dia22mm ●Plastic pilot light in XB5A range (version integrated into XY2CE switch) ●Metal pilot light in XB4B range ●Monolithic plastic pilot light in XB7 range

Telemecanique Sensors 4 - Technical support – April 17 th, 2015 XUSL2E/4E light curtains ●Pilot light ●Examples of light units ●XB5AV ●XB7EV

Telemecanique Sensors 5 - Technical support – April 17 th, 2015 XUSL2E/4E light curtains ●How to supply the light in the stand-alone solution ●From the 2 nd NC contact of the CAD32* auxiliary contactor, with linked contacts ●Possible option : NC contact available on the instantaneous auxiliary contact block of the contactor

Telemecanique Sensors 6 - Technical support – April 17 th, 2015 XUSL2E/4E light curtains ●How to supply the light in the stand-alone solution ●K1 contactor detail, CAD32* used ●The light indicates the machine stop 0V +24Vdc K1 OSSD1 K1 K2 restart XUSL receiver

Telemecanique Sensors 7 - Technical support – April 17 th, 2015 XUSL2E/4E light curtains ●How to supply the light, in case of safety interface association ●From the XPS safety relay, using an auxiliary NC contact. Attached XPSAK example using the auxiliary NC output.
