OTANGAREI TRUST Te Roopu Whakakaha a Iwi o Otangarei It is overseen by a Governance Advisory Group made up of all three parties. Joint Venture agreement 2012 A legally binding Joint Venture agreement is forged and signed by the three boards. The entity reports through the Youth Horizons structure for operational and clinical reasons.

OTANGAREI TRUST Te Roopu Whakakaha a Iwi o Otangarei GAG is responsible for “overseeing the strategic, clinical and operational direction of Te Pae Aronga Taitamariki” “GAG” means the Governance Advisory Group whose members shall comprise two staff members from each of Youth Horizons, Otangarei Trust and NISS, one being the Representative of that party (or their designate), and one other appropriately qualified person with specialist knowledge, training and experience pertinent to the objectives of the Joint Venture.

OTANGAREI TRUST Te Roopu Whakakaha a Iwi o Otangarei 3 of the 8 Objectives To provide high quality short to medium term therapeutic care and protection to children and young people at risk because of significant conduct problems or emerging conduct problems and in need of care and protection because of significant conduct problems. The Services are delivered in a way that respects and acknowledges family/whanau values and beliefs. Work towards building the long term clinical workforce capacity within TeTaitokerau within the Tikanga and Reo of Ngãpuhi.

Also in 2012 Securing our first service: Te Pae Aronga Taitamariki responds to its first RFP and succeeds The second service: A YH service based in Auckland extends into Te Tai Tokerau under the governance of Te Pae Aronga Taitamariki Te Pae Aronga Taitamariki is officially launched and the Governance Advisory Group has its first monthly meeting.

OTANGAREI TRUST Te Roopu Whakakaha a Iwi o Otangarei 2014 Kaikohe Youth Action Plan published and implementation is on course. Fourth service: Teaching Family Home – five (5)-bed group home. Under recruitment, and induction this month. Part of a roll-out of Youth Horizons evidence- based residential model for Teaching Parents. In July we open stand-alone Te Pae Aronga Taitamariki offices and our brand is on the building in downtown Whangarei. CIR funding secured for workforce development project for the Joint Venture coupled with Ngapuhi Iwi Social Services and Otangarei Trust.
