FYP khw09xx1 Final Year Project titles by Prof. K.H. Wong

FYP khw09xx2 KHW0901: A 3-D handheld viewing system without wearing spectacles KHW0901: We propose a movable hand-held display system which uses a projector to project pictures or videos on an ordinary cardboard (or a sphere) which is allowed to move freely within the projection area. The trick is if you move the board or you head, a different image (corresponding to the viewing angle of your mind with the board) is shown, a 3-D perception is created in you head. The idea is based on two projects (i) "A Projector-based Hand-held Display System" by us (youtube demo : ), andhttp:// (ii) Head Tracking for Desktop VR Displays using the WiiRemote by Johnny Lee (youtube demo : ). The work is useful in a new generation of games and education tools.

FYP khw09xx5 KHW0901 See 3D no spectacles need Projector projects image/video on board or sphere For game and education

FYP khw09xx6 KHW0902: An embedded system hardware/software project KHW0902: An embedded system hardware/software project on one of the following themes. (i) Robot self-localization and motion estimation -- finding the location of a robot by sensors on board. (ii) Develop an IPHONE like embedded system with similar or more advanced functions – e.g. adding computer vision capability to the system.

FYP khw09xx7 KHW0903 (CSE) : PC Game Development for Motion Sensing Controller KHW0903: It is one of industrial projects under the “Industrial Final Year Project collaborations scheme” supported by the Science Park and CUHK. Project Descriptions/ Scope: In this project, students will learn how to use the motion sensing controller and base on this platform to develop the game. Since 2006, motion sensing technology started to widely apply on the game console. This new technology enables the new generation game play for game industry. This project aimed to inspire creativity in PC game programming based on the new motion sensing technology. Target Deliverable(s): Functional PC game(s) for the provided motion sensing game controller See for more information.
