 Five new buildings will blanket the downtown campus: student recreation center, student union, College of Education, administration center and Howe Mansion, all with welcoming landscapes and retail shopping to enhance our downtown presence  New student housing and neighboring apartments and townhouses will exceed 2,500 beds  Five remote campuses will supplement the downtown campus  An additional 1,500 parking spaces will be available on campus  New RTA facility will support our local transportation needs  50% of course offerings will be provided through or supplemented with online materials 4 Residential, regional, commuter and online campus Student focused Known for teaching, research and service Leader in diversity hiring practices at all levels Responsibility-Centered Management Respected and copied Proactive and collaborative Outward oriented and engaged regionally

 Enrollment will be at 19,000 students; freshman enrollment will double  New admissions standards will be fully deployed  World class student services will be the norm  Web-based anytime, anywhere functionality will support the total administrative infrastructure  Services to evening and regional campus students will equal daytime student services  Career services will be the most effective in the State of Ohio  The participation rate of contributing alumni will be doubled  The Honors Program will be established and recognized and will have 250 students 5 Residential, regional, commuter and online campus Student focused Known for teaching, research and service Leader in diversity hiring practices at all levels Responsibility-Centered Management Respected and copied Proactive and collaborative Outward oriented and engaged regionally

 CSU will continue to be fully accredited by NCA and curriculum- based accreditation agencies  New research and government grants and contracts will be double the 2003 levels  New and reengineered research support initiatives will increase the research expenditures to double the 2003 volumes  Private contributions will support more than 12 endowed chairs and professorships  More than 35% of students will be graduate students  Academic programs and research will be focused on meeting national and regional needs  Faculty/student experience will be identified as a strength in the National Survey of Student Engagement 6 Residential, regional, commuter and online campus Student focused Known for teaching, research and service Leader in diversity hiring practices at all levels Responsibility-Centered Management Respected and copied Proactive and collaborative Outward oriented and engaged regionally

 CSU will be viewed as one of the major driving forces in rebuilding the regional economy  CSU will engage more in statewide issues in research, economic development and urban revival  Conference and meeting capacity and utilization will double  Athletic teams will win Horizon League championships  University involvement in K-12 education will be known nationally  Business College will be a major service provider to the regional business community  The Bar passage rate will be in the top three among public law schools in the state  Science and Engineering will be contributing to regional economic growth through research innovation and collaboration 7 Residential, regional, commuter and online campus Student focused Known for teaching, research and service Leader in diversity hiring practices at all levels Responsibility-Centered Management Respected and copied Proactive and collaborative Outward oriented and engaged regionally

 The newly established President’s Commission on the Conduct of Searches will review institutional processes and make recommendations to the President  The composition of applicant pools and hiring outcomes will be increasingly diverse at all levels  CSU will be viewed as a model for institutional diversity in hiring at all levels  CSU will continue to be a leader in the State of Ohio in faculty and staff diversity Residential, regional, commuter and online campus Student focused Known for teaching, research and service Leader in diversity hiring practices at all levels Responsibility-Centered Management Respected and copied Proactive and collaborative 8 Outward oriented and engaged regionally

 Cleveland State University will have a fully deployed planning process that encompasses strategic, operational and tactical initiatives  Over 25 intra-state collaborative education initiatives will be in place  Information Technology Shared Services will be operational in the Northeast Ohio area  North Shore Graduate and Research Alliance will be fully implemented  Collaborative programs with The Cleveland Clinic, NASA and others will increase  Enrollment-enhancing partnerships with targeted school districts will be established  Improved articulation agreements with community colleges will enhance enrollment 10 Residential, regional, commuter and online campus Student focused Known for teaching, research and service Leader in diversity hiring practices at all levels Responsibility-Centered Management Respected and copied Proactive and collaborative Outward oriented and engaged regionally

How Does Cleveland State University Get There? ► We will:  Elevate existing administrative and support staff to become more innovative professionals with strong customer service skills  Continually enhance skills of the management and executive staff  Refine the roles of all CSU leaders from the supervisor to the Board of Trustees  Generate unprecedented improvements in the advancement programs  Utilize the University’s increased debt capacity  Enhance the search, hiring and admissions methodology to improve overall faculty, staff and student quality, diversity and retention  Implement new budget and planning methodologies  Increase awareness of the University through aggressive marketing programs 12
