What follows are several ways that I have used the program on various productions:

One Way Is to Start With a Piece of Drafting: Or:

Add a Wallpaper Pattern

Add Some Shadows, Color and Finesse:

And Voila Paint Elevation

Or design a backdrop! You can even start with a grainy image from the web: You’ll see This image Later in a ProductionShot!

Renderings

And you can add that image to a sketch:

Renderings can be built out of paint elevations: Start with paint elevations:

Combine and add perspective and environment to describe a scene.

Or change time of day and scene:

Other renderings from the same production: From paint elevation to renderings:

Scanning paint elevations can also make for a great color model: Start with the elevations:

Size, manipulate, print and cut out to make model:

Use Photoshop to create lettering or images you can trace or insert into your drafting: This photo can be traced into a drafting:

To become this:

Create a Portfolio with Photoshop Adjust photos Adjust photos Add labels Add labels Add borders and create a look Add borders and create a look Create images of a uniform size Create images of a uniform size

Put sketches and Photos together in a similar format:
