MAKING THE MOST OF CAREERS FAIRS How to prepare Who to speak to What to ask about Who do these employers want to recruit?

HOW TO PREPARE Find out who is going to be there Check their websites to find out about their recruitment Put together an up-to-date CV Think of questions to ask Dress smartly (but you don’t need a suit!)

WHO TO SPEAK TO Anyone who interests you! Be flexible and open minded Be confident – talk to employers! Ask questions

WHAT SHOULD I ASK ABOUT? The work – what do graduates actually do? The workplace – where would you be working? Skills, experience and personal qualities – what are they looking for? Training and development Their industry and their business Career development Using your specific skills and experience “How was it for you?”

WHAT ARE THEY LOOKING FOR? Specific degree subjects? Eligibility to work permanently in the UK? Relevant experience? SKILLS Enthusiasm, motivation and attitude
