What can I do with Wimba Classroom? (cont’d) Host – or be a – virtual guest lecturer Synchronously (at the same time your class meets) Asynchronously (at different times than your class meets) Host virtual committee/group meetings ( people can attend simultaneously) Produce recorded lectures, explanations, clarifications on assignments, etc.

What can I do with Wimba Classroom? (cont’d) Offer virtual office hours, group study sessions, web- based tutoring Create some WC’s for your students to use to collaborate by themselves Create & participate in professional development opportunities Lower Calvin's environmental footprint Meet with prospective students via the Internet Significantly reduce travel costs

What can I do with Wimba Classroom? (cont’d) Export audio – and very soon – your video as well Students can take these materials with them on an iPod Records video, audio, desktop sharing, PPT slides, etc. Use it personally and/or professionally I set people up with their own Wimba Classroom “courses” Build your global academic & professional networks
