Recommended Sectors Fisheries (commercial, recreational, regulatory) Public health Emergency responders to storm surge/inundation Maritime transportation (tanker traffic, container ships, cruise lines, LNG carriers, pilots and harbor managers, commercial transportation of people, and intercoastal waterway traffic) Recreational boating (boaters, power squadrons, marina operators, and retailers) Beach users

Fisheries Steering Team suggested workshop format not the best for fisheries because of diversity Jochens & Nowlin met with Gulf of Mexico Fisheries Management Council on 7 June 2006 in Tampa, FL Jochens & Nowlin to meet with Gulf States Marine Fisheries Commission on 25 October 2006 in New Orleans, LA

Other Sectors Recreational boating –To include marina operators, power squadrons, yacht clubs, marina operators, and retailers –Need suggestions for steering committee members Urban Planners/Developers –A lead for this workshop has been identified, John Jacob, who leads the Sea Grant effort in this area.
