 Par is the amount of strokes it would take a skilled golfer to make each hole  Par 3-5 are typical on most courses  The higher the par, the more difficult the course is

 14 standard golf clubs  Consist of a driver, a few fairway woods, 3-9 irons, pitching wedge, sand wedge, and a putter

 Said to be a Scottish sport which originating in the 1100’s  King James IV of Scotland discovered the game  In the 15 th century, there are two laws which prohibit the game of golf

 If the ball is hit out of bounds, player must return to initial spot and hit it again  An extra stroke is added to this penalty  Other penalties include: › Unplayable lie › Hitting other balls › Misplacing/ losing your ball
