About The Program (1) Primary objective is to encourage talented women undergraduates to pursue graduate study and research careers in CS. 10 weeks summer program (2002 – 2005). 8 students, mostly women, from 2 and 4 year colleges. Team projects, 2 students and a faculty member per team. Intelligent information processing and management focus.

Department of Computer Science & Engineering About The Program (2) Emphasis on communicating research results through informal and formal presentations. 3-4 special events including a visit to a major research lab. Weekly social activities. Strong exposure to women mentors and role models.

Department of Computer Science & Engineering Achievements One journal and two conference papers have been submitted. One conference paper has been presented. One student has joined the graduate program at Oakland, and has applied for NSF Graduate Fellowship. One student wants to come back for another summer of REU experience. More faculty are interested in mentoring.
