Introduction Mirror-piggy By the Shiny Shadows

Introduction Purpose of the class To introduce to students the topic of reflections To get students interested in the workings of mirrors Target group: age of 12/13 years

Requirements Double parabolic mirrors with a little piggy 9 plane mirrors A torchlight or small laser Mirror-applets

Part one Getting students excited about the working of mirrors by introducing the mirror-piggy

Part two Hands-on experience for students by letting them use mirrors to reflect incoming light Eventually form a double-parabolic mirror setup by combining the mirrors

Part three Playing around with light-ray applets – Regular mirrors – Curved mirrors – Parabolic mirrors – Double parabolic mirrors and a little piggy

In the end... Students have an idea about the workings of mirrors Students are excited to learn more about reflections Students like little piggies
