What is this Site? This site is devoted to looking at how human development in Vermont is affecting the watersheds they are located in. This site is devoted to looking at how human development in Vermont is affecting the watersheds they are located in. Four case studies are presented to represent four different types of communities. These include rural, suburban, high density, and recreationally based communities. Additionally, there is a section designed for younger students (the Schoolhouse) as an introduction to the topics presented in the other four parts. Who and Why?? This site was the final project for the NR 285 – Urban Watershed Management Seminar at the University of Vermont. The course, taught by Dr. Breck Bowden, focused on how urban sprawl is affecting water issues in our communities. The four case studies are all near the university, and are the product of the student’s work.
