Far East Vol.3 Lesson 6 Emily Dickinson and Her Poems: Vocabulary 鄭景隆 Kobe Cheng

One day evening, I met a rather famous artist, Jay Chow.

He told me that he didn’t want to be somebody who was very active in show business.

I was wondering how wonderful (it is) to be somebody rather than to be nobody Small potato 無名小卒

so I asked him,” Don’t you think having a group of fans is very admiring ?

No you are wrong, I had a tooth ache the other day, so I went to a dentist

at the same time I found a man following me. I knew he was paparazzi

and I talked to myself just cool down. But I couldn’t help beating him, and he fainted on the spot.

The next day, the man told me that he wanted to sue me.

I said,” It seems that you are in extremity.”

Jay said,” I would sell my soul to make up everything

so I asked a robin for his help, and then I came to the tree he perched.

The bird said,” I had a sore throat,

so I want you to compose an amazing tune for me

then I’ll give a magic power to you to make up everything.”

After hundreds of dreary and chilly days have passed,

the masterpiece comes out. The name of the song is “ 稻香 ”.
