P09561 – Visible Spectrum Imaging System: Project Overview Dave Lewis Steve Sweet Joanna Dobeck Lenny Calabrese Jason Thibado Darrell Draper

Description Create a visible spectrum imaging system with vibration damping and a microcontroller that can be mounted on a ground or air based vehicle and interfaced with the given vehicle’s communication systems. The camera will be a commercial off-the-shelf digital camera with a resolution between 5 and 11 megapixels. The primary target vehicle for the system is P UAV-Airframe B in accordance with the payload constraints designated for that vehicle.P UAV-Airframe B

Deliverable Status Beginning to investigate possible camera choices. Comparing microcontroller pros/cons. Researching power options and connection methods. Researching lightweight structural material options.

Key Challenges Coordinating with other groups within the track. Coordinating group meetings on short notice. Which functions of the camera need to be controlled? Narrowing down Specifications based on Customer Needs Weight constraints and overall dimensions Controlling an off the shelf camera with a microcontroller
