Searching for the Way Forward ADVANTAGE FROM DISADVANTAGE

HOW ARE THING’S REALLY GOING IN WASHINGTON DC?

“WHEN YOU’RE GOING THROUGH HELL KEEP ON GOING!

THINKING ABOUT “US” IN A TIME OF CHANGE IS MY ENVIRONMENT CHANGING? IS CHANGE A THREAT OR AN OPPOURTUNITY? HAVE WE EXAMINED OUR MISSION IN LIGHT OF CHANGES? CAN WE CHANGE?

IT’S NOT ABOUT A TRIP IT’S ALL ABOUT THE DESTINATION

THINKING LIKE A BUSINESS LEADER?

THE FUNDAMENTALS OF OUR SITUATION First and foremost what we know as the “riding public” will increase The number of people in our country who are senior citizens will grow Medical Care in the United States will continue to move toward outpatient services as a preferred means of treatment Inevitably all Medical Care will be managed care with a strong commitment to out patient services

MORE FUNDAMENTALS Transportation remains the key to all successful outpatient methodologies Affordable Care Act remains in place and will grow Medicaid and will increase transportation demand The lack of an NEMT benefit in Medicare creates crises for those who pay for transportation whether they are in a publicly or privately funded.

THE BOTTOM LINE First there will be increased demand for mobility services driven by the changes in the changes in health care Second, based on the different kinds of outpatient treatment a community will need a range of services for to meet needed services. The emerging medical transportation models reflect medical first and transportation second.

A FUTURE OF HIGH DEMAND There will be plenty of customers and the potential to network services among providers at the local level will increase----not decrease Communities will need a range of services ----one service will not work for all When last I looked at it—network development in transportation at the local level is coordination

WHO WILL BUILD IT SO THEY CAN RIDE?

“IF NOT US WHO, IF NOT NOW WHEN?”
