Light and Architecture: الانارة و العمارة Light allows us to experience the visual world. change in light = change of experience. ‘Architecture is the fabulous studied arrangement of masses and volumes gathered under the light ‘ Le Corbusier. Our eyes to sense these qualities and to sense colours, planes, shades and shadows. Good lighting with good distribution is therefore means proper vision, comfortable environment, good productivity and allows for good aesthetic. Natural and Artificial Lighting: الانارة الطبيعية و الصناعية examples of natural lightings:- examples of Artificial lightings:-

For maximum utilization of both Natural and Artificial Lighting: - Lighting provision through both natural and artificial light daytime. -Use large horizontal windows for a wide distribution of light and vertical narrow widows for deeper light penetration. -Benefit from roof lighting through different arrangements, e.g.. Saw tooth..etc.

Light and Illumination: الضوء والنور Light is from sources such as the Stars, e.g., the Sun, Fire, Electric lambs Illumination is lighting by reflections, e.g., the Moon. Nature of light: Electromagnetic spectrum comprises of the range of frequencies electromagnetic waves including light. Sunlight spectrum comprises of seen spectrum and unseen spectrum on both sides of it. Infra red radiation (unseen) have larger wave length than the seen spectrum. Ultra-violet on the left side of the seen spectrum has lower wave length.
