Is Christianity the Way of God?

The Bible IS the word of God Matthew 7:21- “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.”

Jesus IS the son of God Acts 4:12- “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

The Church IS the people of God Matthew 16:18- “And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.” Ephesians 3:21- “to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”

thus Christianity IS the way of God!

Proverbs 14:12- “There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.” Matthew 7: “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”

Humanism A way of life centered on human interests and values. A pursuit that rejects the supernatural and divine, claiming that man is the highest being and the pursuit of one’s happiness is the highest ideal. Nothing is out of bounds, if no bounds... Rom. 1:28- “Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done.”

Philosophy Love of wisdom and learning. In comparison to Christianity, the pursuit of understanding life apart from God’s guidance. Salvation through wisdom. Colossians 2:8- “See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of the world rather than Christ.”

Political Pride Feeling that the hope of the country and maybe the world hangs on “the right party” being in power. (Some things probably do, but...) Zech. 4:6- “Not by might or by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord Almighty”

Major World Religions Widely recognized and acclaimed organized groups which do not remotely resemble the religion of the Bible.

Division John 17: “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.” Psa. 133:1- “How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!”

Christian “One who practices beliefs in the teachings of Jesus Christ.” Acts 11:26-“The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch.”

Christianity Acts 9:1,2- Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples. He went to the high priest and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way, whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem.

Christianity cont. Acts 24:14- “However, I admit that I worship the God of our fathers as a follower of the Way, which they call a sect. I believe everything that agrees with the Law and that is written in the Prophets...”

Christianity is a way of… Truth John 8:32- “You will know the truth and the truth will set you free”

Christianity is a way of… Worship John 4:24- “God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.” Colossians 3:17- “...do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus”

Christianity is a way of… Service Matthew 20:28- “Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Christianity is a way of… Love John 13:35- “By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

John 14:5-6 - “Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
