Country of Origin Profiles Pew Hispanic Foundation Nearly two-thirds of Hispanics in the United States self-identify as being of Mexican origin.

Mexicans 31.7 Million Mexicans resided in the USA in (32 Million in 2010) Mexicans are the largest Hispanic group in the USA, two-thirds or (65.5%) of the USA population. 36% of Mexicans in the USA are foreign born 23% of Mexicans are U.S.A. citizens

Puerto Ricans 2.9 Million Puerto Ricans were born in the USA and 1.4 Million were born in Puerto Rico (who are natural born citizens of the USA)

Puerto Ricans 4.4 Million Puerto Rican resided in the USA 2009 (4.6 Million in 2010) Puerto Ricans are the second largest Hispanic group in the USA, 9.1% of the USA population. 43,000 Puerto Ricans are foreign born Puerto Ricans are USA citizens if born in USA or Puerto Rico.

Salvadorians 1.7 Million Salvadorians reside in the USA

Salvadorians 1.7 Million Salvadorians resided in the USA in (1.6 Million in 2010) Salvadorians are the third largest Hispanic group in the USA, 3.6% of the USA population. 63% Salvadorians are foreign born. 28% Salvadorians are USA citizens.

Cubans 1.6 Million Cubans resided in the USA in 2009.
