H1N1 aka: SWINE FLU!

What is it? H1N1 also known as swine flu is a new influenza virus causing illness. The virus was fist detected in the U.S in April 2009 It is spreading across the world like many regular influenza viruses spread. It is commutable.

Symptoms Most symptoms are the same as any normal seasonal flu –Fever –Cough –Sore throat –Head aches –Chills –Fatigue –Runny Nose –Body aches

Cases The flu cases range from mild to severe Most people who have gotten the disease have recovered without hospitalization Some severe illnesses and deaths have been recorded mostly in children

Deaths and severe illness Most who have had a severe case of the swine flu or died had other conditions that put tem in a high risk category Such as pregnancy, diabetes, heart disease, and kidney disease.

Avoid H1N1 Avoid touching eyes and mouth Get vaccinated for H1N1 Wash hands often Avoid the sick as much as possible

If you get H1N1 STAY HOME! For 24 hours after all symptoms are gone or 7 days after symptoms start (whatever is longer) Listen to your doctor Get plenty of rest and fluids Wear a face mask if possible Cover all coughs and sneezes

Swine Flu?!?! H1N1 is also known as the swine flue because it is believed to be a mix of human and swine flu. This does not mean that eating or handling pork products will give you the disease.
