Joshua Bell

In 1981 he made his highly-acclaimed orchestral debut with Riccardo Muti and the Philadelphia Orchestra. Since then, Bell has performed with the world's leading symphony orchestras, including New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony, Royal Concertgebouw and London Symphony. Born in Indiana, USA, Bell committed himself seriously to the violin at the age of twelve.

He plays an Antonius Stradivarius which has a history easily as colorful as that of the fictional 'red violin.' Made in 1713 during the maker's 'golden period,' it is known as the 'Gibson ex Huberman.' Bell regularly performs chamber music with such distinguished artists as Jon Kimura Parker, Pamela Frank and Jean-Yves Thibaudet.
