Newton’s First Law! An object at rest remains at rest, and an object in motion continues in motion with constant velocity unless the object experiences.
Physics Section 4.2 Apply Newton’s 1st Law of Motion Newton’s 1 st Law of Motion (Law of Inertia) An object at rest remains at rest and an object in motion.
MASS. Another characteristic of matter is mass. Mass is the amount of matter in an object. Look at the 3 objects below, all are made up of matter and.
 Objects fall to the ground at the same rate because the acceleration of gravity is the same for all objects.  Acceleration depends on force and mass.

Intertial Mass, Chapter 4

A book is lying at rest on a table. The book will remain there at rest because: there is a net force but the book has too much inertia 2.there are forces acting on the book 3.there are no net forces acting on the book 4.the book does not have enough inertia given the forces involved

An astronaut floating weightlessly in orbit shakes a large iron anvil rapidly back and forth. She reports back to Earth that The shaking costs her no effort because the anvil has no inertial mass in space. 2.The shaking costs her some effort but considerably less than on Earth. 3.Although weightless, the inertial mass of the anvil is the same as on Earth.
