Digitization of "signature collections" from Brown's renowned Special Collections. Development of databases, programs, and applications to enhance access to and use of these materials. Consultative services for Library and academic units undertaking digital projects.

Archiving Brown’s Research Output The Library seeks to add a new dimension to the Directory of Research and Researchers at Brown University Fulfilling its traditional role of archiving and preserving the scholarly output of this institution, the Library is prepared to archive published and unpublished research that may (or may not) be part of the Directory of Research and Researchers.

What Might be Included? Primary Evidence (primary documents, datasets, geo-spatial data) Gray Literature (working papers) Peer-Reviewed Content (pre- or post-print, if rights retained) Supplementary Materials Dissertations and Theses Research Reports Teaching Materials Student work of research value

How will the IR function? As you submit your information to the Directory, send an electronic copy of your research papers, books, etc. to the Library If you do not have an electronic version of your research, the Library will help you create a digital copy The Library will work with the Research Office to link these files to the data in the Directory If you are unsure of copyright restrictions, the Library will help you resolve these questions
