Admissions Interviews MSc Speech & Language Therapy (Professional Qualification) 2010 AW 1

The Interview Comprises 2 parts: –Individual interview with two interviewers –Short essay Title to be given at the interview Opportunity to meet with current students at 1.15 on each interview day AW 2

After the interview Offers of places will go out on or around 22 nd March and must be accepted by 19 th April. Further rounds of offers as necessary If you receive an offer, you must get Garda Clearance and Vaccinations before starting Course starting end of August 2010 AW 3

Overview of the Course 2 year post grad professional qualification –5 modules per semester over 2 full years –Core staff + additional input from practising SLTs, other departments or medical staff 4 strands of study: 1.Supporting disciplines e.g. pyschology 2.Language pathology 3.Research project 4.Clinical practise AW 4

Clinical placements Clinic 1 (Semester 1) –10 sessions visiting aphasia scheme –10 sessions SLT and audiology observation Clinic 2 (Semester 2) –1 day per week for 10 weeks Clinic 3 (Summer block 1) –5 weeks full time Clinic 4 (Semester 3) –1 day per week for 10 weeks Clinic 5 (Semester 4) –6 sessions assessment clinic Clinic 6 (summer block 2) –5 weeks full time Travel necessary AW 5
