Overview Goal: Synthesize emotional speech in fairy tales Tasks: – Find fairy tales and annotate speakers and emotions – Create voices – Create emotions – Combine voices and emotions

Annotation [[EMOTION, SPEAKER]] SABLE markup + emotion tags

Voices Basic SABLE tags Age and species tags – Modify characteristics automatically based on values Evaluate the voices – Tested on group 2 members

Emotions Four basic emotions: – Neutral – Angry – Happy – Sad

Combining voices and emotions Two approaches: – Use emotion tags – On-the-fly
