they gave themselves up in intoxication, carried away by the whirlwind.

Hurrah for the toreador! Hurrah for Escamillo!

I toast you in return, gentlemen, for soldiers and toreadors have much in common:

It’s a holiday, and the arena is full from top to bottom.

Crazy with excitement, the spectators are roaring,

taunting, shouting, screaming themselves into a frenzy!
