At first…  Scientists only classified organisms into one of two kingdoms Plant Animal  This wasn’t enough to explain all the diversity of life

Taxonomy Over the Years  Eventually scientists made five kingdoms: Monera (bacteria) Protista Fungi Plantae Animalia

Prokaryotes vs. Eukaryotes  Eukaryotes have their genetic material contained within a nucleus  Prokaryotes do not have their genetic material contained within any sort of structure
