Enviropig The enviropig is a genetically altered pig made to digest plant phosphorus more efficiently so there is no need to supplement the diet with phosphate or commercially produced phytase.

Methane energy source landfill methane in Connecticut powers generators that produce a total of 169 megawatts of electricity — almost as much as a small conventional generating station.

Ethanol Ethanol fuel is a gasoline alternative that is manufactured from the conversion of carbon based feed stocks such as sugar cane, sugar beets, switch grass, corn, and barley. It is an alternative from petroleum based fuels and it is said to be better for the environment. Ethanol fuel can be combined with gasoline at different percentages, or can be used in its pure form as E100. Ethanol was used in prehistoric times most likely for intoxicating beverages

Biodegradable products Biodegradation is the chemical breakdown of materials. The term is often used in relation to ecology, waste management and environmental remediation. Organic material can be degraded aerobically with oxygen, or a aerobically, without oxygen. As on date the most reliable strategy is biodegradation by eco- friendly microbes, which is generally accepted as an environmentally sound and economically feasible protocol for the treatment of hazardous waste and effluents. Microbes are the tribute for clean environment. Biodegradable products began to become available about 15 years ago. They began to come about as a response to plastic products.

Biodiesel – Biodiesel is one of the most promising replacements for traditional petroleum energy. As an alternative fuel, biodiesel is simply diesel fuel made from a variety of biomass sources. Since it can be grown domestically rather than pumped out of the ground from foreign sources, increased use of biodiesel offers significant benefits. It was developed by Aklan State University
