What is it Virtual BU will be a photo realistic, modeled 3D virtual world based on the BU campus The purpose of Virtual BU is to be able to provide online users with a realistic introduction to BU where they can take walking tours of the campus (ala Second Life) and ask questions and get answers regarding the campus

Plan Multi-year project –Year 1 – modeling of the campus –Year 2 – more Modeling,Customization, animations and NPCs –Year 3 – Virtual conferencing and classes

Technologies Project Wonderland Toolkit –Sun Microsystems and Open Source Community 3D modeling via Google Sketchup 3D animation via Java and Alice Game customizations via Java programming language
