Team READ THIS SLIDE CAREFULLY Alpha Demonstrations will be given by each team at our all-hands meeting on the dates listed at All-Hands Meeting Agendas.All-Hands Meeting Agendas Although the presentations will be spread over the course of four meetings, all teams should be ready to present on the first day. The schedule for all teams will be posted on our agendas page the afternoon or evening before the first presentation meeting. All documents from all teams are due at the same time, namely by 3:00pm on the date of the first set of presentations. –To edit the team number and name on the left side, edit the master slide. – the PowerPoint presentation to Dr. D. –Name your PowerPoint file team_ _alpha_demo.ppt. For subject of the use “Team Alpha Demo Presentation”. Presenting teams are required to dress business casual. Each team will be allotted at most 15 minutes to present. Rehearse your presentation timing. You will be stopped abruptly after 15 minutes. Delete this slide from your presentation. 1

Team READ THIS SLIDE CAREFULLY The purpose of your alpha demo is to convince us that you know what you are doing and that you will be able to complete your project. You should demonstrate a working version of your system with most of the basic features implemented. You should not have any unmitigated risks. You should be able to convince us that you know how to implement everything. The basic organization of your presentation should be as follows. –Begin with a brief overview of your project. This is the “elevator” description of your project. –Review the overall architecture of the system. –Display and describe a few screen shots. –Give your demo. –Tell us what you have left to do. You may add slides as you see fit but do keep the basic organization of this template. You should script and rehearse your demo. You should test your demo in the classroom in advance (say if you need an internet connection). You may want to use Camtasia to produce a video version of your demo just in case. Delete this slide from your presentation. 2
