BE-CO work for the TS Nov 8 Nov 11P.Charrue - BE/CO - LBOC1

BE/CO work (1/3) Planned intervention on the DB service : – ORACLE security patch will be performed on dbabco and laserdb on Tuesday the 8th of November between 9:00 and 9:15. In addition a acclog cluster node will be upgraded which shall be transparent to users. – The new version of the AQ client which provides ORACLE subscription through CMW will be deployed on the 8 of November. Changes to routers during the technical stop: There will be several interventions on IP switches on Tuesday 8 of November. They can result in short network interruptions anytime between 9h and 11h. – 9:00 Upgrade of switch IP62 to Procurve Gb fiber uplink by Gyorgy Balazs – 9:00 reboot of IP66 GPN switch (only 3 machines including CWO-CCC-BAWA for PS access outlook mail on it) by IT/CS – 9:30 Upgrade of switch IP57 to Procurve 3500 by Gyorgy Balazs – 10:00 replacement of 3Com Switch P874-R-IP54-S3C44-E1 by the new Procuve 2910 by Gyorgy Balazs – 10:00 installation of ideally 3 SLC6 consoles in CCC (PSB CWO-CCC-D2LC?, SPS CWO-CCC-A6LC?, LHC CWO- CCC-D?LC) if not already done the previous week – 11:00 Alastair will try to add /mcr/bin/javaws mapping for firefox in ~/.mailcap files of all operator accounts – 12:00 – 18:00 reboot for OS updates etc of as many consoles, wall screens and vistars as possible 8 Nov 11P.Charrue - BE/CO - LBOC2

BE/CO work (2/3) Most important changes to be deployed in LSA during this TS: – [LSA-715] Implemented Settings Compare GUI – compare settings between contexts, with history and with hardware – [LSA-731] Optimized queries responsible for fetching settings – this should speed up trims and incorporation – [LSA-732] Fixed problem with re-generation of MCS signatures for a newly created actual beam process – [LSA-690] Introduced Method Protection mechanism At the moment it will be configured to protect only Beam Mode changes based on the Operational State (state machine) and with lenient mode i.e. the operation won’t be blocked but we’ll just get a mail in case the rule was violated. – Minor change in the SettingAwareRFScope field name from softstart to SoftStart (Delphine) – In addition there are a few minor bug fixes and improvements. 8 Nov 11P.Charrue - BE/CO - LBOC3

BE/CO work (3/3) The CMW/RBAC team will: – 1. Upgrade of all Proxy instances to the latest version of CMW libraries – 2. New version of RBAC client libraries & Authentication server (in progress, client libs were released yesterday) – 3. New version of cmw-rda Java client/server library (might be postponed if we don't manage to test it this week) – 4. New version of CMW libraries C++ for FESA (Michel Arruat prepares a new FESA installation) Timing: – Modifications affecting all machines The DTM layout is going to be reviewed in order to spread the load in order to solve Vistar's issues. For reminder, DTM is used to distribute the Telegram through the network for applications. It will affect all workstations in the CCC. I will restart the dtm server manually on these WS. No reboot will be needed. – Modifications for the PSB New rule in the Sequence Manager to check the PSB USER mapping in LSA. New rule in the Sequence Manager to check if BHZ301 has enough time to pulse (switch between ISOLDE destinations) – Modification for LEIR New rule in the Sequence Manager to check the LEIR USER mapping in LSA. – Modification for SPS New rule in the Sequence Manager to check the SPS USER mapping in LSA 8 Nov 11P.Charrue - BE/CO - LBOC4
