1 September 09Mark Rayner – Emittance measurement by The TOFs1 Emittance measurement by the TOFs Via trace space reconstruction of individual muons. Complementary to the measurement of momentum presented at the last analysis meeting.

1 September 09Mark Rayner – Emittance measurement by The TOFs2 Iterative track reconstruction Last meeting: iterative momentum reconstruction by the TOFs –Path length s ~ z TOF1 – z TOF0 –  Calculate p from p/E=s/t –Calculate transfer map TOF0  TOF1 –  Deduce (x 0 ’, y 0 ’) from (x 1, y 1 ) –Track particle from TOF0  TOF1 –  Measure path length s –Calculate better p from p/E=s/t –Iterate if necessary Note that this method has also reconstructed x 0 ’ and y 0 ’ We can just as easily deduce (x 1 ’, y 1 ’) from (x 0, y 0 ) Can we make useful –Plots of trace space? –Measurements of emittance? All Monte Carlos from a realistic G4BeamLine 6mm emittance 200 MeV/c centre of absorber momentum beam simulated in G4MICE
