Introduction The propose of this presentation is to practice quality tools to improve the Flowchart of Claims used in a Global Construction Mgt. Firm
Original Flowchart
Potential/Reported Problems (Brainstorming) Claims may get lost (no follow ups). All claims must be reviewed by claims group before any dispute. No prioritization of claims, claims are processed on FCFS bases. Time & money should be evaluated before categorizing a claim into > or < $5M because claim price submitted by contractors is only the construction price. The experience factor isn’t deployed, no Lessons Learned.
Proposed Flowchart NEW TASK RELOCATED TASK
Improvements NEW TASK RELOCATED TASK No prioritization of claims, claims are processed on FCFS bases. Claims may get lost (no follow ups). The experience factor isn’t deployed, no Lessons Learned. Time & money should be evaluated before categorizing a claim into > or < $5M because claim price submitted by contractors is only the construction price. All claims must be reviewed by claims group before any dispute.
Quality Tools For some tasks, quality tools may be helpful: 1.Control Charts of time, to stay within limits. 2.Decision matrix, for prioritization. 3.Gantt Charts, Evaluate and schedule all steps. 4.Pie Chart, Compare claims and lessons learned. 5.Three Actual Rule, for facts finding.
