MICE analysis meeting - (4/5/2006) 1 some reflections on scraping, PID sizes and Transmittance M. Apollonio – University of Oxford

MICE analysis meeting - (4/5/2006) 2 1.consider full MICE channel (STEPVI) 2.nominal geometrical apertures in the cooling channel 3.big geometrical apertures in the trackers (R=40 cm) and beyond in PID region (R=90 cm) 4.NO material and NO RF 5.shoot 60K (ICOOL) muons (emi=1.0 cm rad), Pz=207 MeV/c, gaussian spread 10% 6.select througoing muons (endof9) 7.study radial distribution of particles at different z slices and spot the end of the tail  define MAX radius 8.also study transmission of the channel T(A) 1.same as 1 to 6 BUT without selecting throughoing mu’s 2.ratio of single particle emittance histograms before and after cooling channel
