Mission Overview Expectations: Our team would like to prove/discover…  That the Earth’s magnetic field is in the process of polar reversal and is subsequently at a weaker strength than would be expected if the poles were not in transition of “flipping”.  That there is greater UV radiation at higher elevations proving that the Earth’s atmosphere blocks out a portion of the ultraviolet wavelengths of the electromagnetic spectrum.  The efficiency of encapsulated solar cells under different atmospheric conditions.  What the “edge of space” looks like from our homemade satellite at high elevations. Mission Overview Purpose: To use the onboard instruments to characterize temperature, humidity, magnetic flux, and incident radiation and how these are affected by the atmosphere, temperatures, and elevation as the satellite travels vertically through the atmosphere as well as gather photographic evidence of the flight to the “edge of space”.
