Call for Ciudad Juarez Joe Olson 12/08/2009

Project Goal Project Goal – –The goal of this project is to give a little bit of information about the crisis in Juarez with supplied links and photos. Objectives Objectives – –To build a three column layout with facts, information, and links – –To incorporate Javascript (Lightbox 2) – –To use visual colors and strong graphics to evoke an emotional feel Proposed Interactive Project Proposed Interactive Project – –I plan to build a one-page, three-column webpage on the crisis of Juarez. – –I will start by doing both informational and visual research on the best information and photographs to use on my page. I will then work on the page, integrating the research I found. – –I will experiment with different margins and different “divs” to make the best layout. I will also experiment with the Javascript. – –I will need some visual cues as well as instructional steps on how to apply the Lightbox 2 application. – –The result will include a one-page website with the supplied information.

Scope Scope – –Estimated time/Actual time: 6/7 hours to completion, including research – –Estimate/Actual assets: FileZilla, Text Wrangler, Photoshop, Lightbox 2 Tutorial Production Guide Production Guide – –The page will include deep reds and neutrals to evoke a strong emotional feel – –I will include “Facts,” “Crisis,” “BBC Links,” and “Photos” – –The styling will be emotional and dark to relate to the Juarez’s darkness. Visual Specifics Visual Specifics –#000000, #CCCCCC, #83002C, #FFFFFF –Trajan and Times New Roman (including Roman, Bold, and Italic) –Images from Google Image Search and FlickR.com Image Search
