January 2010 DTA Achiever

Welcome Back!! Hello, Everyone! I hope your winter breaks went well. I know mine did! Also, welcome back to the new semester at school. I hope your classes are going well. And everything has settled since the beginning of the semester. I am looking forward to an amazing year for 2010! And I hope you are too!

News From Your Neighbors! Sam Houston has been working very hard. Not only for the National Convention but for their own Chapter. They have been involved in many things such as the Ronald McDonald house, as well as, raising money through a dinner. Also, Ferrum has been trying very hard to think of ways to raise money to help fund their way to National Convention.

More News… Fort Hayes completed their candle sales in December. Also, they plan to help work a middle school dance as a fundraiser. Tennessee Tech has been busy putting together ideas for fundraising for Relay for Life. By setting goals, they plan to raise as much money as possible.

National Convention Will be held March 25 th -27 th, Will be at Sam Houston State Univ. in Huntsville, TX. Details can be found at the following link: – /tiffany.htmlhttp:// /tiffany.html Registration is due by March 1 st !

DTA National Treasurer Dr. Bruce Greene has decided not to seek reappointment and election as National Executive Treasurer. Consider this a call for interested applicants to send me their vita. The information will be sent to Mike Mullen, NACTA President, for appointment to the position. The individual would then be formally elected to the position by the students attending the National Convention in March If you have questions about the position, please contact Bruce at The deadline for submission of your vita is February 15.
