What is a rectangular prism? Look around the room to see if you recognize any rectangular prisms.

Why am I learning this? If you can find the volume of a rectangular prism, soon you’ll be ready for these... This is the easy one!

Area vs. Volume Volume is the amount of space inside a prism. It is measured using cubic units. Remember, area is the space inside a flat figure. It is measured using square units.

Finding The Volume of a Rectangular Prism V olume of a prism = Area of one B ase  h eight V = B h height Area of the Base

Watch: V = B h V = 10 h V = 10 5 V = 50

The Units... Remember 3  3 = What is cm  cm ? = cm 2 And cm  cm  cm ? = cm 3 cm 3232

What about the units? V = B h V = 5 in. 2 in. h V = 10 in. 2 5 in. V = 50 in. 3

Think you know your stuff? Go back to the home page and try out the game. If you still aren’t sure how to find volume, check out these other websites.
