Main idea A Brentwood housewife and her D.A. husband. A Persian(波斯) store owner. Two police detectives who are also lovers. An African-American television director and his wife. A Mexican locksmith(鎖匠). Two car-jackers. A rookie cop(菜鳥刑警). A middle-aged Korean couple. They all live in Los Angeles. And during the next 36 hours, they will all collide. when you are moving at the speed of life, we are bound to collide with each other. Crash“ is an ensemble(套) film with several intersecting(交叉) stories, all of them about people who can't quite seem to understand how things turned out the way they did or how they themselves turned out the way they did. Most of them find out, in the course of the movie, that they are capable of more -- or less -- than they thought they were.

Everyone is angry. Everyone is scared Everyone is angry. Everyone is scared. They all feel that something that belongs to them has been taken away and they don't know how to get it back. A white upper class couple gets carjacked. He‘s a politician (BrendanFraser) concerned about how it will look. She (Sandra Bullock) is terrified and angry. She doesn’t trust the man who has come to change their locks because he looks like a gang(歹徒等) member. A black detective(探長) (co-producer Don Cheadle) tells his Latina partner and sometimes girlfriend (Jennifer Esposito) that "in LA, nobody touches you. We miss that so much, we crash into each other justso we can feel something."

A black actress (Thandie Newton) tells her black television director husband (Terrence Howard) that “The closest you ever came to being black was watching ‘The Cosby Show.’” The white producer of a television sit-com (Tony Danza) tells that same director to re-shoot a scene because “Jamal is talking a little less black.” A character in an overturned car is caught in a safety belt, hanging upside down. A pair of black carjackers believe that what they do is acceptable because they are not robbing black people. One of the tenderest (微妙)father-daughter scenes in years is the set-up for an explosive emotional pay-off later on.

it's a pun... not only the car crash but also people's crash Every character is three-dimensional, utterly real and heartbreakingly sympathetic. The characters keep surprising themselves and each other, for better and for worse, and they surprise us, too. The movie is intricately(複雜地) constructed, going back and forth between the characters and back and forth in time. We get a glimpses of moments that create a mosaic(馬賽克,此處指模糊的影像) in which we see the pattern before the characters do. The movie has big shocks but it also has small glimpses and moments of great subtlety(微妙之處).

Outline of CRASH --- Candice Unstable mind of different races Whites – Jane Blacks- Anthony & Peter Persia – Farhad

The discrimination of the Blacks toward other races. The talk between inspector Graham and Ria The discrimination exists in everyone’s mind

The ironic murder of Peter Officer Hansen killed Peter, the brother of inspector Graham accidentally. The discrimination is originated from a suspicious mind.

relevant questions Do we react differently to the person who cuts us off in traffic depending on her color? Do we smile at one stranger and then flinch at the next? Do our choices reinforce damaging racial stereotypes? When we're the victim of a prejudice "crash," how do we respond? With grace? Or do we throw fuel on the fires of anger and contempt?

Ryan Phillippe plays Thomas, a rookie cop repulsed by his misbehaving partner Ryan. When Ryan pulls over an African-American couple and proceeds to sexually molest the attractive mixed-race wife Christine in front of her husband Cameron Thomas is too bewildered, horrified, and frightened to intervene.

Ryan’s a rogue cop who behaves very badly, but in the end he saved Christine in the car accident. Human hearts are complicated. Although we look down upon others for several reasons, we won’t lost our hearts for people.

Now self-examination through Jean's epiphany Jean talks to her friend what she find out is everyday she wakes up in a mood to argue without reasons ,and she realized there is nothing to do with her car. Maybe it's a time to try to think: If we sometimes impute our personal problem( especially our mood) to racial stereotype and discrimination unconsciously?

Crush→ Ripple effect→Quiet down It's easy to fall a drop of water ( A person ) in a vast ocean ( the masses, the society )--All of us exist in the world, also, we are changed and influenced unobtrusively and imperceptibly by other people, surroundings, and environments. However, if we want to take the same drop again without addition or diminishing, that is, unmingled ,it's impossible. *All within the Four Seas are brothers.
