REUTERS 3000 XTRA Currency (FX) Option A currency option is a contract where the option buyer pays a premium to the option writer to obtain the right, but not the obligation, to buy (call) or sell (put) a specified amount of foreign currency (or a currency futures contract) at an agreed exchange rate, on or before a specified future date. How to price the FX Option? >Implied volatility is the volatility which, if input into the relevant option pricing model, will give an option price equal to the current market premium, i.e., the level of volatility that buyers and sellers seem to have accounted for in the current market price. Option greeks measure the sensitivity of the price of an option to changes in key variables. Delta, gamma, theta, vega and rho are all examples of option greeks.
