What Simulations Could Provide for Ring Analysis Estimates of the p-mode line shape in the presence of: magnetism turbulent convection Verification of inversion kernels through the analysis of artificial data Large enough regions (20 Mm up through 200 Mm) Deep enough (16 Mm) Long enough duration (8 hr to a day or longer) Sufficiently complicated flow field (3D, sharp gradients) Determine how magnetism modifies the Doppler velocity signal?
