Introduction Project Description Over the last ten years or so, face recognition has become a popular area of research in computer vision. In this project, we use face image data from prior project tool (designed by Mingtao Sun), construct a tool to assist a researcher in finding parts of images (conditions of pixels) which are useful for face recognition.

Introduction Project Learning Objects --- Learn about some face recognition theories. --- Construction of a tool with good user interface.

Analysis of Requirement Requirement Overview The software is designed as a tool with user interface of face recognition data search tool, which is possible for users to set the search condition by themselves, and the software is able to search rapidly through a large number of images in database directory, and keep records of any occurrence of a condition.

Analysis of Requirement Requirement in Details R1. Users are able to set the search condition (normally it is an x pixels weight and y pixels height domain less then the size of a face on an image). R2. The search condition, which can be moved easily, is used by users to choose a pixel domain on a face image.

Analysis of Requirement Requirement in Details R3. The software does a search through a large number of images in “database” directory, and the result of different occurrence of a definition should be collected and recorded. R4. The search through face images should be rapid. R5. A further use case is about collecting and displaying search times. Display search times as a function of condition size, and estimating the search time.
