FS FAQ Can MAJOR courses meet an FS requirement? What if a student has an A.S. or A.A.? Can students use online courses for FS requirements? Are any FS courses restricted by major?

Composition New Students with 650 SATV or 26 ACTE may meet the freshman composition requirement by completing GH 101 and 201.

Communication No Change Comm 101 Intro Speech Comm Comm 202 Public Speaking Comm 215 Bus & Prof Comm Comm 302 Speech Comm for Teachers

Quantitative Literacy or Math DARS will enforce MAPLE TA as prerequisite. QL courses, Math 102, Fin 108, Econ 101, require SATM 430 or ACT 17 or Maple 07. MET 215, Math 115, 122,123, 131, 201 must have minimum MAPLE TA score (see handout). Students with SATM 650 or ACTM 26 have met the requirement.

Non-Native Language 2 Semesters Required New Students may now take courses to complete the 2 semester requirement. Sign Language may be transferred to ISU.

Health & Wellness New PE 101, 101L OR Hlth 111 Hlth 111 has an activity component that will be 25% of the course grade. See handout for activity details.

Laboratory Science 2 non-foundational studies courses taken from 2 departments may meet the requirement. Example: Chem 105, 105L + Bio 101, 101L
