 1924, Germany was not invited to the first winter games because of World War I  1928, In their first Winter Olympics, they won one bronze medal in bobsledding.  1932, In lake Placid they won two bronze medals. 23 German athletes participated in the Winter Olympics.  1936, Nazi Germany hosted the Winter Olympics. They won 3 gold medals and 3 silver medals.

 There was no Olympics in 1940 and 1944 because of World War II.  1948, Germany was not invited to the Olympics because of their actions during World War II.  1952, after World War II Germany broke into 3 countries only the federal republic of Germany was invited to the games the other 2 countries were told to cooperate.  1956, The three countries competed together as the United Team of Germany.

 1960, Germany went to Squaw Valley for the 1960 Olympics and won four gold, three silver, and one bronze. The games were celebrated between Feb. 18 and 28.  1964, Germany competed at Innsbruck, Austria. They won three gold, three silver, and three bronze.  1968, Germany competed at Grenoble, but Germany sent independent teams starting in They won two gold, two silver, and three bronze.

 1972, West Germany competed at Sapporo, Japan. They won three gold, one silver, and one bronze.  1976, West Germany competed in Innsbruck, Austria and won two gold, five silver, and three bronze medals. This is the year where the Germans won the most medals so far.  1980, West Germany had 80 competitors in ten sports in late Placid. U.S.A. They only won two sliver and three bronze medals.

 1984, West Germany competed in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia they were 84 competitors and won two gold, one silver, and one bronze medal.  1988, West Germany competed at the the Winter Olympic games in Calgary, Canada. This was the last time West Germany competed without East Germany. They won two gold, four silver, and two bronze. There were 90 competitors in the Winter Olympic Games.  1992, After the reunification in 1990 East Germany and West Germany competed as the same team in Albertville, France. They won ten gold, ten silver, and six bronze medals with 111 competitors.

 1994, Germany competed in Lillehammer, Norway with 112 competitors. They won nine gold, seven silver, and eight bronze medals.  1998, Germany competed in Nagano, Japan with 125 competitors. They won twelve gold, nine silver, and eight bronze medals.  2002, Germany competed in Salt Lake City, USA with 157 competitors. They won twelve gold, sixteen silver, and eight bronze medals.  2006, Germany competed in Turin, Italy with 162 competitors. They were the fifth largest team but they won the most medals with eleven gold, twelve silver, and six bronze medals.

 2010, Germany is going to compete in Vancouver, Canada with 44 competitors How will we do!?
