Update The talk with Avi blew our minds The important notes to take away: ▫Poles and zeros of a system determine whether the system is stable/its response (we want poles in the left-hand side of the complex plane) ▫We can achieve a stable system by setting the values of poles and zeros (often requires adding poles and zeros)  Hardware side of things:  adding components  adding poles and zeros ▫Transfer functions and MATLAB are our best friends

Update (cont). We are in the process of developing lag compensation (maybe this will become lead-lag in the future depending on time) ▫We completed initial optimization and are moving on to building the equivalent circuitry In parallel, we are researching gain compensation, minor-loop compensation, inverted plant model For each controller we choose, we perform MATLAB optimization  design/build corresponding circuitry

Current Assignments Building the lag compensator circuit Continuing to optimize (values for the poles and zeros) using MATLAB Meet with Gray at 4:30pm today for verification and consultation Constantly researching and a lot of it Waiting to hear back from Vanderlei/Dominik and Brad Minch
